Nairobi, Kenya — After a season of reflection, transition, and healing, the acclaimed gospel ensemble formerly known as Msanii Music Ministries has officially announced a name change to Manna Music Ministers. The change marks a new chapter following their recent and amicable separation from the parent group, Msanii Music Group.

In a heartfelt statement released to their supporters, the group emphasized that the rebranding was not borne out of conflict or disillusionment, but rather from a sense of divine calling and discernment. “We chose to restart,” the statement reads, “not because we had lost love for what we had been part of—but because truth and time gently called us in a new direction.”

The group, known for its contemporary gospel music, acknowledged the emotional weight of their departure. “We cried, we questioned, we held on… but reality and a quiet conviction dictated that it was time to walk forward,” they shared. In the days that followed their decision, they found strength and solace in the unwavering support of their fans: “You listened. You encouraged. You prayed. You held us up without needing any/all the details.”

The new name, Manna Music Ministers, was chosen after prayer, introspection, and counsel from spiritual mentors and loved ones. The symbolism of “manna” — the miraculous daily bread from heaven — resonates deeply with the group’s journey and mission. It reflects their belief in daily divine provision, humility, and purpose. “We are not gathered in the comfort of certainty,” the statement continues, “but in the humility of daily bread.”

The transition from Msanii Music Ministries to Manna Music Ministers also underscores a broader spiritual message. Drawing inspiration from Psalm 103 and SDA Hymn 511, the group emphasized their desire to walk forward not embittered, but resolved — carrying both gratitude for the past and hope for the future.

“This is not the erasure of our history, but the claiming of a new identity,” they wrote. “In changing our name, we do not erase our past, but we choose how we will be known, and how we believe God will be to us His children.”

Msanii Music Group, the umbrella under which the group previously operated, remains active and continues to nurture gospel talent across Kenya. The two entities part ways with mutual respect, and both aim to further the gospel in their unique paths.

As Manna Music Ministers, the group is expected to continue producing and performing music that uplifts, inspires, and encourages, grounded in their renewed sense of calling and commitment. Their message to fans is clear: “We walk forward – not with many answers, but with one abiding truth: We are Sustained by Him.”
